What a day!
We bought a new Odyssey! It's a 2006 LX model (basic - no extras) with only 6,000 miles. We just started looking at cars yesterday, although I had narrowed down our choices using Consumer Reports a few months ago. We didn't intend to buy something so soon, but this was such a great deal we couldn't pass it up. Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book had it listed at retail for between $23K and $25k, and we got it for $21,600. So, we're now a 2 Odyssey family, which seems a bit ridiculous, but we wanted our new car to be something comfortable and safe during long trips and we don't want to trade in the old one so that we can have 2 cars to drive. We pick it up on Monday at 10!

After being gone for about 2 hours for the car, we came home and found that a pipe had burst in our downstairs bathroom (pipe leading to the cold water) and it was pouring out. It soaked through about 1/2 the family room carpet, through the wall into the laundry room, through the wall into the garage, and down into the basement - filling about half the basement with 1/2-1 inch of water. Sean was able to turn off the water and he spent the afternoon cleaning it up with a shop vac and steam vac (I did some, but then had to go to a wedding). We now have heat on full blast trying to dry everything out. The hot water pipe in the same bathroom had a slow leak a few months ago, that we unfortunately didn't catch until mold had started to grow. We hardly use this bathroom - it seems to be more trouble than it's worth! Here are some pics of the mess:

YAY on the Ody! How cool... It's so neat to have a vehicle you can walk around inside of! :)
and UGH! on the leaking pipe. :( You should have some sort of break for at LEAST a year after buying a new (to you) house, I think. :(
