Back from the Beach

We all had a great time at Seaside Heights this weekend. The weather was perfect until this morning, which didn't matter since we were driving home. It was Kate's first visit to the beach, and she loved it. Once Alex got used to the fact that the Jersey Shore doesn't have warm water like in Puerto Rico, he enjoyed the waves, too. Sean was the first one out past the breakers and enjoyed floating on his back. Seaside Heights is quite a party town at night, which made for some difficulties sleeping on Saturday night, but the daytime is very family friendly, with a huge boardwalk with lots of food, games and rides. The hotel was great, too (except for the broken elevator). We had a room with 1 king, 1 queen, a couch, TV, fridge and microwave, and it was available at the last minute. The man in charge was extremely friendly, too.

Looking at the boardwalk and Sky Ride (like a ski-lift that went along the boardwalk) from the seafood restaurant where we ate dinner Friday night:

Kate requested her big brother take her though the Haunted Mansion. She was very glad he was there to hold her tight. The ride takes them out of the haunted house on the second floor balcony before taking them back in - here they are on the balcony, with Alex protecting Kate:
