We got the news today that Betty is in her final days. She has a large tumor in her bladder. We can give her an anti-inflammatory medication to help, but the vet said we're looking at months. We just have to watch her for pain or inability to urinate, and when it gets too bad, it will be time to euthenize. She's such a good dog, it will be a difficult decision to make. And she's still in such great shape for a 15 year old - she still romps around with Bowie!
The kids took it pretty well. Kate made us laugh by going over and giving Betty a kiss and saying "bye Betty!" We've all known her time was coming, it's just sad to think of her leaving us so soon.
