Kate had her birthday party yesterday - with all the old friends from Sue's. It was a Harry Potter/Dora birthday (Kate couldn't stick to one theme). We got a store-bought pinata, which Alex eventually had to hit in order to get it to break open. The kids had fun being together again (they haven't all been at Sue's for 3 weeks now).
I've been meaning to update on Alex a bit. High School is going well - he's adjusting to the enormity of it and is starting to get to know some other kids. The assignment book is being used daily and he's getting homework turned in on time! His math teacher puts all their grades into some web program so we can easily access them, which is nice. He's also joined the high school youth group at the UU. They had their first meeting on Thursday night and he had a great time. It's mostly a social group, but they'll also do some social action projects this year.
Monday night will be my last night volunteering at the hospital. I decided I really needed to try to simplify a bit, and it was the easiest thing to remove. Alex is still volunteering there on Sunday afternoons.
